There have been divergent opinions on the growth of the Indian economy. This paper looks at the projections for growth made by different agencies, explores the reasons behind those projections and discusses the future growth prospects for the Indian economy in the context of the changing global scenario. Currently, the tenth largest economy in the world in terms of GDP and third in terms of it contribution to market expansion, India's influence on world economic and political affairs is predicted to further increase in future.
