Indian automobile industry has come a long way from the era of the Ambassador car to Tata Manza. The industry is highly competitive with a number of global and Indian companies present today. It has been growing at a rate of around 18% per annum for the last five years. India is porjected to be the third largest auto industry by 2030 after the US and China. The study attempts to examine the efficacy and adequacy of working capital in the ndian automobile sector for five years by analyzingthe annual reports of the comapnies for financial year 2004-2008
