There has been a gradual paradigm shift in the world of finacial decesion in recent times. Particularly, since Rio 1992, environmental and other factors are becoming more and more strategically important in business decisions including corporate finance in view of the fact that nothing is sustainable if it fails to pass through the environmental, social and governance (ESG) test. It is not that the idea is a noble and fanciful one. The business world has started experiencing that the new mantra of sustainability has a great latent market. This article is an attempt to capture this emerging horizon of sustainability based decision making process in finance.
