The methodology to calculate cost of capital with the help of systematic risk is faulty because corporate fiance has ti deal with both systematic and unsystematic risk. After examining three index companies, Mastek, Jet Airlines, and MTNL, the author advocates segregation of risk into bankruptcy and liquidity risk.
