Exchange traded funds are in their infantry stage in India and many investors are hardly conversant with their functioning. ETFs represent a basket of securities that is traded on an exchange, similar to a stock. Hnence , inlike conventional mutual funds, ETFs are listed on a recognised stock exchange and their units are directly traded on stock exchange during the trading hours. Exchange traded funds in India lisitings include gold, sliver and currencies. It is similar to a mutual fund that one can buy and sell in real time at a price changes during the trading session.
